NB - WARRANTY INFORMATION (BELOW DOES NOT APPLY IF YOU UPGRADE TO LITHIUM BATTERIES ABOVE)
The standard batteries in this kit are rated to last 150-200 cycles (load sheddings).
During occasional load shedding, at stage 1-2, the average life span is 2 years.
Unfortunately, during constant load shedding, at stage 2 - 6, these cycles will be depleted within a few months.
The batteries will also be further degraded due to insufficient time to recharge fully in between load shedding cycles.
**Please note that as soon as the batteries stop lasting, unfortunately the warranty becomes void, as this means that the batteries have depleted their cycles and reached the end of their life.
Please always keep the total load shedding count of 150-200 cycles (high cycle batteries) or 200-250 cycles (deep cycle batteries) in mind when running the system.
Therefore, during constant stage 2-6, we highly recommend keeping the inverter’s power switch OFF. Then, only switch it on when the need for backup power is crucial.
This will preserve the longevity of the batteries (please keep it plugged in to the wall permanently to keep it charged).
*Owing to the weight of this item , there will be an additional R795 courier charge.
*Collection from our office in Joburg is at no extra charge

You need an inverter system. See below Frequently Asked Questions on how they work:
Q) What is an inverter system and what does it do do?
It is an inverter unit coupled with a battery which provides power when there is load shedding. It keeps its battery charged when there is Eskom power. As soon as Eskom power cuts, the system instantly transfers over to battery power so you can keep your lights, TV, computers (excluding Apple MAC Desktops only), chargers and wifi running during load shedding
Q) Is it easy to connect up? Do I have to fiddle with electronics?
It is super easy The system is plug and play.
The inverter has a regular 3 pin plug that goes into the wall. You then have a 3 way multiplug on the inverter that allows you to connect any appliance you want. Keep the appliances connected at all times, the inverter will automatically switch to battery as soon as it detects Eskom power is down.
Q) How much backup time will I have on the unit before normal Eskom power come back on to recharge the battery?
Assume a computer, TV, and desk lamp are connected to the inverter:
This unit will last 4-6 hours
Only want a lamp, wifi router and laptop connected to the inverter:
This unit will last 10-12 hours
Q) What appliances can I run on the inverter system?
Our plug and play systems will run any appliance that has low power usage and does not have a motor. So you can run TVs, computers, wifi, lights, chargers, etc.
Fridges, fans, heaters are not recommended to be connected to inverters. For those items, we can suggest a more specialised system - please click "contact us" and let us know your requirements.
Please note, this unit is considered as a 'large' UPS - it will not be able to charge a smaller UPS as it is modified sine wave
PLEASE NOTE: This unit is not suitable for use with an Apple IMAC as they require pure sine wave
Q) What is the warranty/guarantee?
The entire system comes with a full 1 year warranty.

03/02/2017Good day, I want to upgrade the system to 4 or 6 Batteries, will the batteries fit in the cabinet? or do you have larger cabinets. Kind regards Answer:
You can upgrade to more batteries. This will hold up to 6 batteries. So if you'd like that instead, you can deduct R800 from the kit in question: <a href="http://www.geewiz.co.za/battery-containers/25993-c6-steel-battery-cabinet-holds-6x-100ah-batteries-incl-circuit-breaker.html">http://www.geewiz.co.za/battery-containers/25993-c6-steel-battery-cabinet-holds-6x-100ah-batteries-incl-circuit-breaker.html</a> -

26/03/2017Will this unit function like a normal ups? In other words, can I plug my pc into it and it will stay on when there is a power outage. Also, do I need a special db board for this unit or do I just plug it into a wall socket? Answer:
Yes, it will function like a regular UPS. It is a plug and play unit, so you will not need a separate DB board. Think of itthe same as normal computer UPS just with extra long run time -

13/09/2017Is this suitable to run some network equipment in a power outage? Specifically a router, two access points, two low power PCs used for servers and some external hard drives (3.5")? I am a but confused and don't understand when you need "Pure (true) Sine Wave". If this specific unit will not work please can you recommend something else? Answer:
Yes. For those items, modified sine wave is fine and it can definitely run all of that for a few hours -

22/06/2018in your advert you say there is a 1yr guarantee. will it be a onsite repair or do i have to take it in for repairs and what does the guarantee cover Answer:
It is a carry in warranty. The warranty covers the inverter and battery against manufacturer faults - so for example, if your batteries suddenly stop holding charge or the inverter stops giving output, we will then send it in for repair/replacement -

Battery Burnt and Melted after 1 year
Bought this inverter and battery set in October of 2022. It has worked reliably since then to power a laptop and a few screens, cellphone charger etc. However over the past weekend (when there was no load shedding) i noticed a horrible burning smell. The batteries were basically on fire. This is a health hazard and fire hazard. Please be aware before buying
Outstanding Service
GeeWiz went above and beyond to help me when the inverter that came with this purchase wasn't quite right. Thank you Riaan and Sandra for all the help.
Great product.
Highly recommend this product to combat loadshedding. We run a full office (2 screens, 2 laptops etc), fibre, router, TV and PS, and in the 2 hour loadshedding slots, it hardly makes a dent in the battery percentage. Needs to be depleted regularly if there is no loadshedding. Been doing that today, and it's been about 7 hours and the battery is still on 75%. So should be able to get a lot more out of it.
Works great and good quality!

Best affordable backup power solution
Bought this inverter a year ago and it is amazing. Will keep your internet connection going for a full work day and more. Must have for anyone who works from home and can't afford losing power to your router and/or laptop. If you do your research you might come across guys complaining about the noisy fan: no such issues with this unit. Brilliant!!!
